Machine screw nuts are small-diameter threaded fasteners used with machine screws in light-duty and precision assemblies. They are defined primarily by size range and reduced wrenching dimensions rather than by thread pitch alone.

These nuts are commonly specified where compact geometry, controlled engagement, and smaller across-flats dimensions are required for confined or miniature assemblies

Dimensional Characteristics of Machine Screw Nuts

Machine screw nuts are typically manufactured in smaller nominal diameters and may follow small-pattern dimensions, providing reduced across-flats measurements compared to standard hex configurations of similar thread size.

Standard production commonly includes double chamfered or double countersunk styles. Alternative configurations may include a washer face on one side with single chamfer and double countersink features depending on application requirements.

Machine screw nuts are not limited to fine threads. Thread pitches may include UNC (coarse), UNF (fine), or UNEF (extra fine) depending on the specified assembly.

Applications

Machine screw nuts are used in instrumentation assemblies, electronic enclosures, control panels, small machinery, maintenance applications, and other assemblies requiring compact fastening systems.

Standard vs. Print-Specific Supply

Many machine screw nuts are supplied to established dimensional standards. When customer drawings specify non-standard heights, alternate thread forms, or special material and finish requirements, production becomes print-specific.

When prints are submitted, G-Fast reviews specifications for manufacturability, feasibility, and cost efficiency. Any recommended adjustments must be approved by the customer’s engineering team and reflected on an updated drawing prior to production. G-Fast does not provide design services.

How G-Fast Supports Your Requirements

G-Fast supplies machine screw nuts in unified thread series for commercial, industrial, and government-specified applications. We work strictly from approved customer documentation and support both standard and print-specific sourcing.

Height and Special Configurations

Machine screw nuts are generally supplied in standard height configurations. Where drawings specify alternate heights, special geometries, or modified faces, production becomes print-specific.

Materials and Finishes

Available materials may include carbon steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and other specified alloys appropriate for the application.

Surface treatments may include zinc plating, nickel plating, black oxide, passivation, or other specified coatings based on environmental exposure and performance requirements.
